The Custody Map Process

The Custody Map Process

How Workspace Cedarfield turns separated wallet storage sites into a single readable custody map document.

What a custody map contains

A custody map is a structured document listing every storage site, hardware wallet, backup tier, and retrieval sequence relevant to your offline holdings. It uses neutral reference codes — Site A, Device 2, Backup B — so household members can orient without reading seed phrases.

Step one: intake

After you book, we send a questionnaire asking for city-level locations, device models, and trusted contacts. You do not submit keys or seed words. The intake establishes session length and whether you need Korean, English, or bilingual deliverables.

Step two: mapping session

At our Daejeon office or over encrypted video, you walk us through each site. We note what category of material lives where: primary device, encrypted backup, passphrase hint, or access instruction. We may photograph device exteriors and label stickers with your permission.

Step three: redundancy review

We test your separation logic. If two backup tiers sit at one address, we flag collapsed redundancy. If retrieval requires visiting Site C before Site A, we document why — some multisig setups demand order.

Step four: draft and correction

Within five business days you receive a draft map. You verify location codes and device references. Corrections are included in the session fee for up to two revision rounds.

Step five: delivery

Final map as printed sheets at pickup, or encrypted PDF to storage you control. Emergency brief templates attach if booked. We delete working drafts from our systems unless you purchase archival storage.

Who keeps the map

You do. We are document preparers, not custodians. Store copies where your emergency contact can reach them — which is itself a line item on the map.
